Pregnancy and wellness: taking good care of yourself
During pregnancy a lot revolves around appointments, preparations and practical matters. But you too deserve care, attention and relaxation. Slow down, feel, enjoy.
Keep moving gently
Regular, gentle movement supports your fitness, strength and mobility, and helps with little complaints such as back and pelvic pain. In the warm water of pregnancy swimming, moving also feels lighter, because the water carries your weight.
Allow yourself relaxation
A pregnancy massage offers a moment of calm in a busy time. It helps release tension and reconnect with yourself and your baby. Breathing and relaxation exercises are valuable too, certainly in preparation for the birth.
Rest and sleep
Listen to your body and rest when you need to. Sleeping problems are common during pregnancy; a fixed evening routine, a good position with a pregnancy pillow and movement during the day can help.
Attention for your mental wellbeing
Being pregnant brings joy but also questions and uncertainties. Talk about it with your partner, family or midwife. Your feelings are allowed to be there, and a listening ear often does more than you’d think.
