Our care
Pregnancy swimming
Relaxed movement and a moment of connection.
Being pregnant is a special period in which your body changes every day. Sometimes moving feels heavier, small complaints become more noticeable and it can be good to have a moment when you can simply relax.
During our pregnancy swimming classes we combine gentle movement, relaxation and attention for your pregnant body. In the warm water you experience freedom and lightness again, while staying active in a safe way during your pregnancy.
Why pregnancy swimming?
Less strain on your body
The water carries your weight, so your joints and back are under less strain. Many pregnant women experience relief from back and pelvic complaints and from a heavy feeling in the body.
Moving with confidence
Moving regularly supports your fitness, strength and mobility. The exercises are adapted to your pregnant body and help you feel stronger and more confident towards the birth.
Relaxation for body and mind
The warm water helps you let go of tension. A moment for yourself, away from the bustle, in which you consciously connect with your body and your baby.
Preparation for the birth
By paying attention to breathing, relaxation and body awareness, you learn to listen to your body. These are skills that can also be valuable during labour and birth.
A moment of connection
Pregnancy swimming is not only good for your body, it is also a lovely moment to consciously pause with the baby growing inside you.
Connecting with other pregnant women
You meet other women in the same special phase. There is room for recognition, a friendly chat and sharing experiences, so you also build a warm network of other mums-to-be.
Who is it for?
Pregnancy swimming is suitable for pregnant women who would like to keep moving in a gentle and safe way during their pregnancy. It is allowed during every stage of your pregnancy.
You do not need to be an experienced swimmer: the classes take place in shallow water and focus on relaxed movement and enjoying the water, not on sporting performance. If you are unsure whether pregnancy swimming is suitable for you, it is best to discuss this with your midwife or doctor.
